SAMPSON, Herbert Grant
Professor Emeritus, Queen's University
May 7, 1932 - October 23, 2017
Pre-deceased by parents, father Herbert Arthur Sampson and mother, Evelyn Grant Fuller. Grant was a respected and admired member of Queen's Department of English from 1954 until his retirement in 1996. Grant also served in the years 1965-87 as Director of the University's Performing Arts Office. In that role, he acted as a concert impresario, travelling often to New York City to engage the most prominent and promising artists to perform at Queen's. He will be deeply missed by his large circle of friends, his adopted family, The Pickerings, Hector, especially Vera, Steve and Emmy and their girls, Gracie and Lily. Contributions may be made to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation in Grant's memory. In keeping with Grant's wishes there will be a private graveside service.
