Dear Mrs. Bailey,
Please accept my condolences on the recent passing of your husband Clair. I had the good fortune to meet you in October of 2016 when you brought Clair to MacArthur Hall at the Homecoming weekend and Bill Belsey gave the address.
Your husband was one of my elementary teachers at the Faculty in the first year it was at the (then) new building. He partnered with Ron Ripley and they made a great team. I really enjoyed learning from Clair's knowledge and wisdom about teaching and children. He had a wonderful patient and calm manner about him, a great model for elementary school teaching.
I wish you strength in the days ahead, and hope you gain comfort from the knowledge that Clair was such a wonderful teacher to so many future teachers.

Although my days at McArthur were long ago, I will always remember Clair's kind smile and his genuine interest in the students. The world has lost a good man.
