Charles Forte

Obituary of Charles E. Forte

FORTE, Charles April 9, 1924 - December 22, 2019 Charlie passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was so loved and will be dearly missed by his son Chuck and daughter-in-law Judy, niece Wendy Smith (late Jeffery) and special family friend Holly Conway; as well as his grandchildren Emily Chamberlain (Rory), Lauren Kirk (Matt), Ben Forte, great-niece Mallory Smith, and great-grandchildren Brynn, Deacon, Myla, Jax and Vivian. Charlie was predeceased recently by his beloved wife Winnifred (Paterson) and cherished daughter Jeannie Forte; as well as brothers Ron and Jim Forte, and sisters Betty Chisnall, Helen Barr and Nadine Cunningham. He is loved and survived by one sister, Shirley Tremblay of Kanata, and will be missed by many from both the Forte and Paterson families. Charlie was a long-time employee of Condie Pontiac Buick and was well known in the community. Many (hopefully not just umpires and referees) will remember Charlie over the years from local arenas and ball diamonds, where he spent countless hours behind the bench or in the stands. He was always there to cheer someone on, lend a hand, or offer rides to make sure kids got to and from practices and games. We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff of Connell 3 and Rideaucrest Wellington Terrace for their compassionate care. Funeral service will be held at ST. PAUL'S ANGLICAN CHURCH (Queen & Montreal St.) on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at the James Reid Reception Centre, 1900 John Counter Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the U.H.K.F. or St. Paul's Anglican Church in Charlie's memory.
