Obituary of Holland Melson Denney

Peacefully, with his two daughters by his side, Holland Melson Denney Jr. passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  Born in Newnan, Georgia to Marjorie Bailey and Holland Melson Denney.
Holland was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country in the Vietnam War and later was stationed in Alaska and California. He followed his heart to Canada to be with his true love Helen forever.  He now will rest in peace beside her.
He will be dearly missed by his children Sharleen (Chris) and cherished grandson Daniel whom he adored, Shawna (Peter) and Mark (Claudette).  His family in Georgia, sister Karolyn, niece Kim (Steve), nephew Kevin (Ginny) and Kason and predeceased by his sister Francis and niece Kelly.  As well as brother-in-law Mel (Hilda) and uncle to Kim (Theo), Kristine (Sean) and Kyle of Calgary.  He also leaves behind his extended karaoke and dart family.
Sincere gratitude to ALL the staff at Extendicare Kingston for the exceptional care and support they provided for Dad.
Dad loved playing sports and in his later years watching all sports, especially baseball (Blue Jays fan), golf and college football. Dad was very fond of watching his favourite TV show Heartland and the heartwarming Hallmark movies at Christmas. Dad was a member of the Oshawa and Kingston Legions for over 20 years.

A private Family Service was held at James Reid Funeral home in Kingston, Ontario.  Interment and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.

In lieu of flowers a donation to Jays Care Foundation or a local charity supporting youth sports would best honour Dad.  He always wanted kids to have an equal opportunity to participate in sports.
