Obituary of Arthur Ludlam

LUDLAM, Arthur Walker

1923-2023

Peacefully at home on February 1, 2023 in Kingston, Ontario. At age 99, Arthur has gone on to his next big project. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer and Pamela, grandchildren James (Sydney) and Mwenda, great-grandchildren Rowan and Maeve, sister Anne, and nephew Robert. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Anne, parents Stewart and Gwyneth, as well as grandson Iain. A chemical engineer (U of T, BASc, MASc), Arthur worked in industry for 20 years and then taught high school chemistry at Central Tech in Toronto until retirement, after which he volunteered regularly. He and Mary Anne were true creative partners throughout their marriage, collaborating on designing and building and enjoying the family cottage. Later, he was her right-hand man as she painted the beauty of Canada.

Many thanks to the staff and residents of Waterford Kingston Retirement Residence for their care. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held in the spring at James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston. For those who wish, donations to UHKF (KGH Cardiac) would be appreciated by the family.
